OFFICIAL RULES: EK DX FIESTA EVENT 2026

1. DATE AND TIME

The event will take place during the 3rd weekend of October 2026.
* Start: Saturday, 17.10.2026 at 00:00 UTC
* End: Sunday, 18.10.2026 at 23:59 UTC

2. PARTICIPANTS AND REGISTRATION

The event is open to all 11m DX Stations.
* Requirements: Registration is mandatory. You must register using your Callsign (only 11m QRZ Callsigns are accepted), your Name, and a valid e-mail address.

3. FREQUENCY AND MODES

* Allowed Band: From 27.410 MHz to 27.800 MHz in SSB mode.
* Forbidden Frequency: It is strictly prohibited to make QSOs on 27.555 MHz and 27.455 MHz in SSB mode

4. LOGGING AND DEADLINE

Contacts must be made as regular radio contacts. Do not exchange progressive numbers or include the comment „Contest“ in the logs. Logs will be used exclusively for final contact verification.
* For ClusterDX Users: Contacts logged on the platform are automatically valid. You do not need to submit any log or e-mail.
* For Manual Log Users (If you do NOT use ClusterDX): You must fill out an Excel file with the following column format:

Save the file using your callsign as the filename (e.g., 1EK001.xlsx) and send it via email to: echokilogroup@gmail.com.
STRICT DEADLINE:
All manual Excel logs must be submitted via email no later than October 31, 2026. Logs received after this date will not be valid for the final rankings.

5. SCORING AND SCORE CALCULATION

Note: Duplicate QSOs (working the same station multiple times) will not be counted.

CATEGORY: EK MEMBERS

* 10 points: For each QSO with an EK station in the same division.
* 20 points: For each QSO with an EK station in a different division, but within the same continent.
* 30 points: For each QSO with an EK station from a different continent.
* 100 points: For each QSO with the special station EK/000.
* 10 points: For each QSO with a non-EK station.
* Multiplier: Total points multiplied by the sum of all divisions worked in the log.

Calculation Example (Log with 50 total QSOs):
* 10 QSOs with EK members in the same division (10 x 10) = 100 points
* 10 QSOs with EK members in a different division/same continent (10 x 20) = 200 points
* 10 QSOs with EK members from different continents (10 x 30) = 300 points
* 10 QSOs with the special EK/000 station (10 x 100) = 1000 points
* 10 QSOs with non-EK stations (10 x 10) = 100 points
* Partial Score: 1,700 points
* Multiplier: 21 divisions in the log
* Final Score: 1,700 x 21 = 35,700 points

CATEGORY: DX STATIONS (NON-EK MEMBERS)

The goal for external operators is to hunt as many EK members as possible in any division.

* 10 points: For each QSO with an EK member.
* 100 points: For each QSO with the club station EK/000.
* Multiplier: Total points multiplied by the number of EK divisions worked in the log.

Calculation Example (Log with 50 total QSOs):
* 40 QSOs with EK members (40 x 10) = 400 points
* 10 QSOs with the special EK/000 station (10 x 100) = 1000 points
* Partial Score: 1,400 points
* Multiplier: 21 EK divisions in the log
* Final Score: 1,400 x 21 = 29,400 points.

 

6. BONUS STATIONSThe EK/000 stations will act as Bonus Stations. They will actively participate to distribute points to all operators, but they will be out of competition (they will not compete for prizes).

* EK Members: A beautiful Trophy for each of the Top 3 participants in the final ranking.

* DX Stations (Non-EK): A beautiful Trophy for the 1st Place Overall in this category.

Non-EK Trophy Activation Condition:
To ensure a high competitive value, the physical Trophy for the Non-EK category will be awarded only if the total sum of valid and verified QSOs made by ALL non-EK operators combined reaches or exceeds 200 QSOs. (Duplicate or unverified contacts will be discarded and will not count toward this collective goal).

* e-Certificate for All: All participants in both rankings (EK and Non-EK) who have officially registered for the event and actively participated (with valid QSOs in the log) will receive a personalized e-Certificate available for download.

8. FINAL RESULTS AND RANKINGS
Final results and official rankings will be published on the official EK website and the EK Facebook page.
